In the last unspoiled landscape protection area - the "Marinas des Llucmajor" - lies "Son Quel Mateu", a country house from the 18th century. The Belgian architect Vincent van Duysen designed an environment of monastic austerity from traditional Mallorcan construction with a minimalist interior. On a plot of more than 30,000m² with mature trees, the finca blends harmoniously into the Mallorcan landscape, with a sandstone pool, an old mill, four outbuildings, its own well and cistern. The interior is made to measure and handcrafted with traditional island-typical ecological materials, exquisite cedar and oak wood. The property has modern home technology (solar, air conditioning, underfloor heating, cold room, sauna, broadband internet, a digital landline as backup, etc.). Approximately 850m² of living space is divided into the main building with guest house, an old mill, the keeper's house, a sauna house and a large pool building, which is currently used as an office. Large balconies and terraces, the outdoor kitchen with a historic bakehouse and spacious lawns invite you to live outdoors, neither neighbors nor streets are in sight, neither electricity nor telephone cables disturb the view. The thermal winds from the coast ensure a pleasant climate even when it is very hot. Son Quel Mateu is a place of silence and meditation, only 20 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from Llucmajor and 12 minutes from Es Trenc, the most beautiful dune beach on the island.
