The municipality of Binissalem is located in the centre of the island, has more than 8.800 inhabitants and stands out for its stone architecture; the well-known Binissalem stone, and for its production of high-quality wine with the denomination of origin in its wines, as well as its beautiful landscape. In Binissalem you will find the famous José Ferrer winery, with a wide variety of wines and a wide range of food and wine experiences. It has a wide gastronomic offer, we recommend Restaurante Terra di Vino, which is one of the favourites amongst locals and tourists, serving top quality food. Its flat valleys offer relatively easy routes for hiking and cycling, and the surrounding mountains offer breath-taking views. Many also enjoy visiting the local vineyards for tours and tastings. It has two main events that take place every year, the wine festival "Festa des Vermar", which is held in September, and an annual demonstration of stonemasonry craftsmen, which is usually held in May.
